Really good food. Friendly staff. Pretty building. Got the vegetable platter and lamb skewers to share 3 ways. The pakoras are big and very tasty. Didn't try the lamb. The food we got is definitely better described as flavorful than spicy, which I enjoy
Out of ALL the east Indian restaurants I've ever been to, this by far is the best I've been to. The butter chicken I ordered was brilliant and savoury. The staff were very polite, even the trainee wasn't a problem; Since I had absolutely no problems with this luxury of a restaurant, I have to suggest it to anyone who is willing to try east Indian cuisine and for those that are very familiar with east Indian cuisine I would suggest this without hesitation.
We arrived at the Royal Dar late in the day after time spent preparing the wedding venue for my son's marriage the next day. Unfamiliar with the local dining options we selected the Royal Dar from a list of other restaurants generated by a Google search. We are very happy we chose this place, it is incredible! It has a great warm atmosphere evident from the moment one steps inside. The staff are friendly, patient and willing to take the time to answer questions and went out of their way to accommodate our rather large (9) group on very short notice. Our host was gracious, the food absolutely delicious and the service excellent. This is a restaurant that should be tried without hesitation; we will be back next visit to Duncan!
The best Indian food I've had from a restaurant. Service is impeccable, great atmosphere. I called in for take out and I was initially warned about a 45 minute wait due to a large party in the dining room, however after placing our order the chef informed the front of house they would be able to have our order ready in twenty minutes. We are repeat customers and after trying several different menu items I have been impressed every time with the food. Highly recommended.
Being from England, where curry is considered a national dish, Im very discerning when it comes to Indian food. The Royal Dar have nailed it. The best curry Ive had in the 10 years Ive been in Canada. Beautiful location, delectable and authentic food, excellent servers, clean and comfortable atmosphere, and generous portion sizes.
